Call for applications for a permanent full-time teaching post
Applications are now open for a permanent full-time teaching post at ESCI-UPF in the areas of international and/or European law and environmental sustainability, with a business focus.
Functions and duties
- Teach ESCI-UPF programmes
- Take part in research with the UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change
- Help design and organise the academic structure of ESCI-UPF programmes, preferably in the area of environmental sustainability
- Carry out academic management tasks required of all permanent teaching staff at ESCI-UPF

Basic requirements
- PhD in law
- University teaching experience in English
- AQU/ANECA quality assessment accreditation
Highly valued criteria
- International and/or European studies at university level
- Bachelor’s degree in management
- Extensive, broad teaching experience
- Assessment of recent teaching experience
- Teaching and/or research experience in environmental sustainability
- Research activity experience (publications, projects, etc.)

Procedure
Interested applicants should send their CV (including the name and contact details of at least two referees), together with all the necessary documentation and any other documentation to be taken into account, to the folling form.

Candidates will be awarded points as follows:
- International and/or European studies at university level: up to 10 punts
- Bachelor’s degree in management: up to 5 points
- Extensive, broad teaching experience: up to 5 points
- Assessment of teaching experience in the last five years: up to 5 points
- Teaching, research and management experience in environmental sustainability projects in the last five years: up to 10 points
- Research activity experience (publications, projects, etc.) in the last five years: up to 5 points
- Academic references: up to 5 points
- Immediate availability: up to 5 points
The selection committee will assess the duly accredited merits of all applicants who meet the basic requirements. Up to three candidates who have scored at least 30 points may be shortlisted, provided that no shortlisted candidates are separated by more than 3 points.
Shortlisted candidates will be called before the selection committee to present and defend a postgraduate teaching project on environmental sustainability management worth 15 ECTS credits. This project (maximum 3,000 words) should be prepared and defended in English. Candidates will be awarded up to 25 points for their presentation and defence of this project.
Shortlisted candidates will also be called for interview with the selection committee, who may award up to 25 additional points for their performance at interview. Both the interview and the project presentation and defence will be carried out online.
The minimum final score for any successful candidate is 70 points out of a possible 100 points.
The selection committee will draw up a ranked list of the successful candidates and will recommend that the director of ESCI-UPF offer the post to the highest ranked candidate on the list.
The selection committee will be made up of four members (the head of studies for the Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Marketing, the coordinator of the official master’s programmes at ESCI-UPF and two members of the UPF teaching staff) and will be chaired by the director of the UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change. A member of the ESCI-UPF academic administrative staff will act as secretary to the committee, with voice but no vote.
