Discounts
Certain personal circumstances entitle students to discounts on public tuition fees (please consult the fees table for the 2026–2027 academic year).
Important: please note that if you have not submitted the required documentation for your situation at the time of enrolment, you will not be eligible for the corresponding fee reduction.
Large Family Certificate – General Category (first category) and Special Category (second category or honorary)
Before the in-person enrolment process, you must upload a copy of the valid large family certificate through the online pre-enrolment form.
IMPORTANT: If your large family card has expired, you must renew it before the enrolment period in order to benefit from the tuition fee reduction. If you are already a student, you must upload proof of renewal or a valid certificate through the SIGMA student procedures module before 15 July. Please remember that, according to UPF regulations, the card must be valid on the official start date of the academic year. Once you receive the renewed certificate, you must submit the original and, where applicable, a final copy.
Students with a special-category large family status (second category or honorary) are entitled to full exemption from the public tuition fee component.
Students with a general-category large family status (first category) are entitled to a 50% reduction in the public tuition fee component.
Single-Parent Family Certificate – General Category (one dependent child) and Special Category (two or more dependent children, or where either the parent or the child has a disability).
Before attending your in-person enrolment appointment, you must upload a copy of the valid certificate, issued by the relevant authority of the corresponding Autonomous Community, through the online pre-enrolment form. The certificate must be valid on the start date of the academic year.
IMPORTANT: If you have your single-parent family status, you must submit the relevant accreditation before the enrolment period in order to benefit from the tuition fee reduction. If you are already a student, you must upload proof of renewal or a valid certificate through the SIGMA Academic Procedures Module by 15 July. Please remember that, according to UPF regulations, the certificate must be valid on the start date of the academic year and, where applicable, you will be required to present the original document and a final copy.
- 50% reduction in public tuition fees for members of a general-category single-parent family.
- Full exemption from public tuition fees for members of a special-category single-parent family.
Certificate of Honours Distinction in Bachillerato or Extraordinary Award in Bachillerato
Before the in-person enrolment process, you must upload through the pre-enrolment online form an original certificate issued by your secondary school confirming the Honours Distinction in Bachillerato or documentation certifying the Extraordinary Award in Bachillerato.
You will be entitled to full exemption from the public tuition fee component for all first-year credits.
IMPORTANT: This reduction only applies if you are entering university for the first time.
Disability Certificate (minimum degree of 33%)
Before the in-person enrolment process, you must upload a certificate issued by the competent Spanish authority confirming a recognised degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%, valid on the official start date of the academic year, through the pre-enrolment online form.
The document must specify the degree of disability, the type of condition, and the date of the next review, or indicate whether the condition is permanent/final.
You will be entitled to full exemption from the public tuition fee component for all enrolled credits.
Official Resolution Recognising Victim Status of Terrorist Acts
Before the in-person enrolment process, you must upload the corresponding administrative resolution through the pre-enrolment online form. In the case of spouses or children, the resolution must be accompanied by a copy of the family record book (Libro de Familia). Once the academic year has started, instructions will be provided, where applicable, on how to submit the original document and a photocopy.
You will be entitled to full exemption from the public tuition fee component for all enrolled credits.
Official Resolution Recognising Victim Status of Gender-Based Violence
Before the in-person enrolment process, you must upload through the pre-enrolment online form supporting documentation proving victim status in cases of gender-based violence within a partner relationship:

Final court ruling for a gender-based violence offence.

Protection order or any other court resolution granting precautionary measures in favour of the victim.

Report from the Public Prosecutor’s Office confirming that the applicant is a victim of gender-based violence.

Report or certificate confirming that the applicant is receiving assistance as a victim of gender-based violence, issued by one of the following services:

Social services
-
Family and Gender Violence Unit of the Directorate-General for Families of the Department of Labour, Social Affairs and Families

Specialised Intervention Services (SIE)
-
Women’s Information and Support Services (SIAD)
-
Victim Support Office
-
Public shelter/accommodation services
-
Organisations subsidised by a public administration for the care of women victims of gender-based violence

Labour and Social Security Inspectorate report

Validity of the documentation:

Final court ruling for gender-based violence offences:

If the final sentence is under 2 years, the victim status will remain valid for 2 years.

If the final sentence is between 2 and 4 years, the victim's status will remain valid for 4 years.

If the final sentence exceeds 4 years, the victim status will remain valid for the duration of the sentence.

Protection order, precautionary measure, or Public Prosecutor’s report:
Victim status will remain valid for at least one year, or for the duration of the precautionary measures if longer. -
Certificates or reports from victim support services:
These will remain valid during the calendar year in which they are issued.
To prove dependency status for children of victims of gender-based violence within a partner relationship, the following documentation must be submitted:

Family record book (Libro de Familia) for children up to 21 years old.

Household registration certificate for children over 21 years old.
