EUKIT
Knowledge and Innovation for the European Trade Challenges
EUKIT–Knowledge and Innovation for the European Trade Challenges was a Jean Monnet Module approved by the European Commission in 2020 and implemented at ESCI-UPF over a period of three years. Led by Professor Joan Pere Plaza, the project aimed to strengthen teaching, research, and public outreach related to the European Union’s Common Commercial Policy.
Throughout its implementation, EUKIT focused on three main objectives:
- Consolidating and expanding teaching and research on the EU’s Common Commercial Policy at ESCI-UPF.
- Introducing innovative teaching content and experiences to enhance the quality of education and the dissemination of knowledge.
- Promoting public debate on international trade governance and the EU’s role, helping to counter disinformation and engage broader audiences.
To achieve these goals, the project developed a wide range of teaching, research, and outreach activities, as well as materials designed to generate meaningful impact among different target groups. In line with ESCI-UPF’s mission, EUKIT also worked to bridge the gap between academia and society, promoting accessible and reliable knowledge on international trade.
The EUKIT team was composed entirely of ESCI-UPF academic staff and benefited from collaborations with external experts, both educational and professional.
