Research Seminar | Chambers of Commerce as Inclusive Institutions

On Tuesday, 14 October, ESCI-UPF will host the first Research Seminar of the 2025-2026 academic year, delivered by Dr. Piotr Marciniak, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Law Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences (Poland).

In this session, Dr. Marciniak will explore, from an economic, formal, and organizational perspective, the conditions that chambers of commerce must meet to be recognized as inclusive institutions, following the framework highlighted by the 2024 Nobel Prize in Economics laureates. The seminar will also address why these key business environment organizations often face limited acceptance among small and medium-sized enterprises.

The seminar will be held in English and is open to everyone.

Dr. Piotr Marciniak focuses his research on the global role of chambers of commerce, combining economic, administrative, and constitutional law with an interdisciplinary approach. He has served as a leader of business organizations, entrepreneur, and telecommunications market expert, and has been part of several governmental expert teams. He is the author or co-author of over a hundred publications and analyses on these topics.
