Given the latest news and announcements regarding the spread of coronavirus, ESCI-UPF would like to stress the following points:

1. First and foremost, ESCI-UPF will at all times follow the recommendations and guidelines issued by the Catalan Ministry of Health and the Catalan Secretariat for Universities and Research.

2. Up-to-date information is available on the dedicated ESCI-UPF webpage Information about COVID-19. We strongly recommend that you check this webpage regularly for the latest advice, which we will post as soon as we have it, including our social networks (Twitter and Linkedin).

3. On March 12, the Government of the Generalitat announced the cessation of activity of the Catalan educational institutions, including the university ones, from Friday, March 13.

4. ESCI-UPF has set up a monitoring committee, in permanent contact with UPF, to respond to any new circumstances as and when the situation develops.

5. ESCI-UPF has stepped up cleaning routines in all rooms, lifts, toilets, corridors, etc.

6. ESCI-UPF has drawn up a contingency plan to ensure that students will be able to take their second-term exams as planned.

7. ESCI-UPF’s overriding objective is to ensure the academic community’s health and wellbeing, while doing everything possible to minimise the effects on teaching activity and planning that would arise if we were obliged to restrict access to the school.
