Call for full-time lecturer | Professor of the practice

«APPEL À CANDIDATURES PROFESSEUR À TEMPS PLEIN «PROFESSOR OF THE PRACTICE»

The Escola Superior de Comerç Internacional – Universitat Pompeu Fabra (ESCI-UPF) is looking to recruit a full-time lecturer with extensive professional experience in Business & Management, especially in the areas of International Contracting & Trade and Digital Business & Information Technologies. The selected candidate will teach in the Bachelor's Degree in International Business and Marketing, the Grau en Negocis i Màrqueting Internacionals, as well as in other academic programmes at ESCI-UPF and will promote the new Mention in Francophonie.

The selected candidate is expected to take the position in October 2025. Their responsibilities will include: 

  • Teaching in the courses offered by ESCI-UPF, with demonstrated capacity in International Trade and Contracting and Digital Transformation courses. 
  • Academic coordination and organisation of courses and programs offered by ESCI-UPF.
  • Promotion and coordination of the new Mention in Francophonie of the Degrees in International Business and Marketing and Negocis i Màrqueting Internacionals.
  • Student tutoring.

Basic requirements

  • Candidates must have an accredited university degree (or have started the homologation process).
  • Candidates must demonstrate a proven ability to teach in English, French, Spanish and Catalan.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate extensive professional experience in the institution's own teaching fields.
  • Candidates must have the level of Catalan required by the Catalan Law on Universities* or commit to acquiring this level within two years after taking the position. 

Aspects that will be positively evaluated

  • Extensive professional experience in companies’ export departments, franchising and digital consulting.
  • Experience in the transfer and integration of professional practice to teaching.
  • Experience in administrative and academic coordination tasks.
  • Availability to start immediately.

Procedure

Candidates must also include in their application letter the names and contact details of two references that ESCI-UPF may contact during the selection process.

The internal selection committee of ESCI-UPF will pre-select candidates based on the fulfilment of the basic requirements and the assessment of the merits provided, duly accredited. 

The pre-selected candidates will be invited to an interview at ESCI-UPF, where they will be asked to present, in the required languages, their professional experience and teaching career to the internal selection committee of ESCI-UPF and an external representation of UPF

Data protection

In accordance with the Organic Law on the Protection of Personal Data (LOPD), ESCI-UPF informs all persons who wish to participate in this selection process that the personal data they send to ESCI-UPF related to their application will be stored in a database owned and controlled by ESCI-UPF. This personal data will be used exclusively to evaluate candidates' applications for recruitment purposes. Administrative appeals

The administrative appeal procedure is established in the ESCI-UPF regulations. Any appeal must be sent to the Managing Director (esci@esci.upf.edu). The resolution of appeals will correspond to the Director of ESCI-UPF and will end the administrative process.
