Biography

Antonio Espinosa Morales is an associate professor at the Departament of Computer Architecture and Operating Systems at UAB. He has worked on several projects in the field of bioinformatics. Between 2003 and 2008 he led a research group at Oryzon Genomics and was later a member of the HPCA4SE research group at UAB. He has collaborated with a number of genomics research centres, including CRG, CNAG and CRAG. He also teaches several subjects on distributed systems and cloud computing for bachelor’s and master’s degree courses at the UAB School of Engineering.

This course focuses on the concepts of distributed systems and the basic components of web-based systems. Developing web applications and languages and the tools used to develop dynamic content. Web service–database interface. Use of virtualisation technology to provide services. Cloud services and deployment models.
