Biography

Antonio Barbadilla teaches in the Department of Genetics and Microbiology at the UAB and is also lead researcher in the Bioinformatics of Genome Diversity group. He uses theoretical models of population genetics and statistical methods to analyse and interpret genetic variation on a genomic scale, while also developing bioinformatics tools for cataloguing and representing genetic diversity in a growing number of species, including humans. His research has appeared in some fifty research papers published in renowned international scientific journals, including Nature and Science, as well as in a number of book chapters.
