Biography

Sergi Arfelis worked for three years as a process engineer in the chemical industry and is currently a PhD candidate at the UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change ESCI-UP, supervised by Dr Pere Fullana and Dr Alba Bala and funded by Swiss company Deasyl. His thesis studies the development and application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in several innovative and environmentally friendly chemical technologies developed by Deasyl, including concepts of both green chemistry and process intensification related to the study of chemical synthesis reactions, catalytic reactions and mechanochemical processes, among others, in comparison with five conventional technologies.
