Biography

Pelayo Corella trained as a journalist and historian and has been a lecturer at ESCI-UPF since the first year. After heading Continuing Education for six years, he currently combines his work as content strategist at ESCI-UPF with giving classes and lectures on retail and company internationalisation. He has helped write several books and reports on the evolution of trade and he cowrote the book Negociación intercultural.

Description

By applying the main theories of international relations, we examine enduring and contemporary topics in international relations, such as neocolonialism, international cooperation, security, nationalism, globalization, climate change and humanitarian intervention. We study political-environment and public-policy challenges in the world's leading countries and regions. We discuss how the global order has been gradually changing and how selected international and regional organizations such as the EU, the UN and NATO contribute to the maintenance of global peace and security.

Learning Outcomes

Gain knowledge of the international political context and its major effects on the trajectory of companies in international markets. Obtain an understanding of how international power relations are changing and how global stability can be maintained.
