Call for Papers: 5th Annual Scientific Conference – Chambers of Commerce
Day:
19.11.2026
- 20.11.2026
Place: ESCI-UPF
For the first time, ESCI-UPF will host the 5th Annual Scientific Conference – Chambers of Commerce, an international event that will bring together researchers, academics, chamber of commerce representatives, and public policy experts to discuss the role of these institutions in a global context marked by economic, technological, and geopolitical uncertainty.
The conference will take place on 19–20 November 2026 at the ESCI-UPF campus and is jointly organised by ESCI-UPF, the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz. For ESCI-UPF, hosting this conference is particularly meaningful, as the institution has maintained a close relationship with chambers of commerce since its foundation. Chambers of commerce are part of ESCI-UPF’s founding Board of Overseers and have historically played a key role in strengthening the connection between academia and the business community.
Under the theme “Architects of Resilience: Rethinking the Role of Chambers of Commerce in Times of Uncertainty”, this year’s edition will focus on the capacity of chambers of commerce to act as facilitators of dialogue between the business sector and public administrations, as well as on the need to develop new institutional models that strengthen their contribution to economic and social development. The conference will feature distinguished keynote speakers and internationally renowned experts in this field.
The Call for Papers is currently open to researchers interested in presenting work related to the comparative analysis of chambers of commerce, business participation mechanisms in public policy-making, or new models of governance and business representation, among other topics.
Those interested in submitting a paper or obtaining further information about deadlines, requirements, and the registration process can visit the conference’s official website:
