Corporate Social Responsability : Equality office
The Equality Office was set up by the offices of the Manager and Director of ESCI-UPF in conjunction with Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the university community as a whole in order to offer comprehensive information and resources to achieve effective equality at the school.
The Equality Office provides immediate and follow-up support for equality-related issues to different departments at ESCI-UPF, responds to queries, processes complaints lodged by anyone who has suffered violence as a woman or a member of the LGTBI community, and organises awareness-raising activities to promote effective equality between men and women and embed respect for sexual diversity and gender identity and expression. It also serves to prepare and implement the necessary programmes to promote equality policies at ESCI-UPF and coordinate the specific actions to be carried out by different academic and administrative offices and services in this field.
ESCI-UPF’s Inclusion and Gender Equality Policies Committee is an advisory body that puts forward equality initiatives to meet the targets set for achieving effective equality between men and women. It includes representatives from the three branches of the university community and serves to offer advice on drawing up, implementing and assessing successive equality action plans, as well as promoting the gender perspective and gender parity in policymaking and awareness-raising activities across the university as a whole. It also designs a range of activities in the field of gender equality policies to be carried out by the Equality Office or other ESCI-UPF bodies, informs on institutional activities and decisions on gender equality policies and gathers together proposals made by different university centres and offices, among others.
