Biography

Enric Ruiz-Geli trained as an architect at the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona and was a visiting visual artist at ZKM Karlsruhe on a KRTU scholarship from the Catalan Government. He was associate set designer for Bob Wilson (1995-2000), codirector of Metapolis (2000-2003) and curator of the Spanish Pavilion at the 5th São Paulo Architecture and Design Biennial (2003). He has been a tutor for the Master’s Degree in Architectural Design at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, since 2010 and also teaches for the Architect as Activist Diploma 18 at the Architectural Association, London. He gives lectures and collaborates with a network of labs.

Since 1997 he has been director of Cloud 9 studio, whose agenda is to look at pilot projects in global warming scenarios. He has created several patents as masterpieces of digital fabrication. His building Media-ICT was named World Building of the Year at the 2011 World Architecture Festival and won a special m
