Biography

Mathilde Marengo is an Australian-French-Italian architect whose research focuses on contemporary urban phenomena, their integration with technology and their speculative implications on the future of our planet—or the next one. She is currently academic coordinator for the Advanced Architecture Group at IAAC, where she is also a PhD supervisor as part of the InnoChain EU research project. She has been at IAAC since 2013 and was in charge of Communication and Publications until 2015. She won a research grant cofounded by Compagnia di San Paolo for the Atlante Med-Net project and did her PhD research at the PhD School of Architecture and Design at the University of Genoa, XXVI cycle, and the Universitat Politècnica Catalunya–BarcelonaTech. She earned her PhD in April 2014 with her thesis “Multi City Coast: The evolving forms and structures of the Mediterranean multi-city; New models of urban thinking and perspective.”
