Biography

Manuel Gausa is an architect and vice-president of the Advisory Council for the Sustainable Development of Catalonia (CADS). He has directed a number of master’s courses in architecture and is currently director of the Scuola di Dottorato in Architettura e Design at UNIGE (Genoa), where he teaches Projects and Composition. He has sat on scientific boards at a several institutions, including IAAC and ARCHILAB. Since 1994 he has been director of Actar Architecture, where he has carried out several internationally acclaimed projects. From 1991 to 2000 he was editor of Quaderns d’arquitectura i urbanisme (the journal of the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya) and he has written for publications such as La Vanguardia newspaper. His co-authored books include Barcelona: Modern Architecture Guide (New York: Actar, 2013).
