Biography

Toni Luna has taught geography at UPF since 1996. He has conducted research on the process of urban and economic transformation in cities on the US–Mexico border, with a focus on urban social movements and the cultural dimensions of urban life. He sits on the executive board of the Societat Catalana de Geografia, the editorial board of Treballs de la Societat Catalana de Geografia and the executive board of the Col·legi de Geògrafs a Catalunya. He has been involved with Metropolis since 2002 and is also a lecturer for the Master’s Degree in Territorial Studies and Urbanism at the Escola d’Administració Pública de Catalunya and the Institut d’Estudis Territorials. Since 2002 he has been academic director of the International Campus UPF academic programme for international students in Barcelona. His present research interests include the impact of cultural policies on the evolution of cities, particularly in Spain and Europe, and issues of international edu
